The Order was established to allow men and women to provide service to God’s Holy Church through works of our hands by faith.

A new altar expansion at the Mission Church of St. Augustine of Canterbury in Old Orchard Beach.

The Order of St. Brendan the Navigator (OSBN) has completed its first project of the year, a new altar expansion at the Mission Church of St. Augustine of Canterbury in Old Orchard Beach. The order redesigned the original chapel altar adding a retable and tabernacle. A set of branch lights were also added to the chapel to match the expanded altar.

The order redesigned the original chapel altar adding a "retable", a shelf unit that sits upon the altar and is used to hold the Tabernacle, the sacred vessel which contains the Body and Blood of Christ and the office lights (candles).

The tabernacle is an ornamental container for storing Communion bread and wine.
